Welcome to the Kenner Fire Fighters Association - Local 1427, a dedicated organization with a rich history dating back to our original charter date on April 26, 1962. With a legacy of service spanning decades, we take pride in our commitment to the community and our fellow firefighters. Our union is comprised of 109 total active members who embody the values of courage, compassion, and camaraderie.

As members of the International Association of Fire Fighters 14th District, we provide a strong collective voice for our firefighters. This voice ensures that every aspect of our members' employment, from salaries and benefits to working conditions, is safeguarded through our local union. Without this union support, firefighters can find themselves vulnerable to the unpredictable shifts of their employers. With us, they gain influence over their own livelihoods.

  • Safety is paramount in our line of duty, and our union takes the lead in championing workplace safety. We refuse to settle for less when it comes to protecting our firefighters.

  • In times of adversity, our union serves as a powerful advocate, ensuring fair treatment for our members. Our union fights for fundamental workplace rights and represents and shields firefighters from unjust disciplinary actions.

  • Our union provides a platform for the unheard, allowing members to voice their concerns without fear of repercussions. For those without a union, grievances often lead to dismissal, but with our support, leaders take notice of our members' issues.

Beyond our commitment to our fellow firefighters, our union proudly raises funds for vital initiatives such as the University Medical Center Burn Center, Children’s Hospital of New Orleans, cancer support support and initiatives, and the Kenner Firefighter Family Fund. We believe in giving back to the community that we protect and serve.
